Why convert HEIC to JPG?
JPG is a practical choice for email, forms and apps that cannot open iPhone HEIC photos. It uses lossy compression: lower quality usually makes smaller files, while repeated conversion can reduce detail. Transparent areas become the selected background color.
Conversion runs on your device; photo bytes are not uploaded. Select several files, adjust size and metadata, then download individual results or a ZIP. The displayed size estimate is a guide; actual encoded size depends on the picture and settings.
Orientation, metadata and privacy
The decoder applies the image orientation before export. EXIF is removed by default. Preserving EXIF can retain camera, date and GPS data when readable metadata is present; it is not a guarantee that every original field survives. Review this choice before sharing.
Limits and troubleshooting
Only the primary still image is converted. Live Photo motion, image sequences, depth maps and HDR appearance are not preserved. The HEIC decoder supports images up to 4096 pixels per side and 16 megapixels; larger inputs must be reduced before importing.
If a file fails, verify it is a valid HEIC or HEIF photo, try a smaller batch, and keep this tab open until conversion finishes. Memory available on your device and browser can limit processing. A ZIP contains successful conversions; inspect any failed files separately.
